BERLINO – Dall’11 al 15 ottobre 2023, presso gli Uferstudios Berlin, è andato in scena ZWEIFEL(it. dubbio), ultimo lavoro della Tanzcompagnie Rubato.
Nel silenzio, un primo danzatore raggiunge lo stage. Sollevate entrambe le braccia in una diagonale, inizia a dar vita allo spazio. Con movimenti lenti, passa da una posa a un’altra per poi, dopo poco, scomparire nel buio. La scena si ripete immediatamente. Entra un’altra performer e, pur con una personalità e dei passi diversi, esegue anch’essa il suo breve solo. Dopo essersi allontanata dal centro della scena, arriva una terza danzatrice che, sembra cercare un equilibrio che non trova.
A questo punto nove danzatori si raggruppano sul palco e, muovendo il loro peso da un piede all’altro, iniziano a oscillare. Le luci arrivano dal fondo e sono disposte in basso. Due schermi, uno bianco e uno nero, sono posizionati in alto a destra e a sinistra del palco. Quando parte la musica dal vivo cambia l’energia e i performer, attraverso ampi movimenti delle braccia, iniziano a camminare nello spazio e a danzare. Poi tornano ad avere lo stesso fronte per rompere di nuovo le file e saltellare usando sempre le braccia come motore dei loro spostamenti. Seguono alcuni momenti di contact, e altre immagini suggestive offerte dalle pose assunte da piccoli gruppi di danzatori, simili a gruppi scultorei.
Da qui lo stesso schema torna a ripetersi più volte. Prima si assiste a dei soli, in cui alcuni movimenti o pose tornano a ripetersi e poi a momenti di danza ‘collettiva’.
ZWEIFEL rappresenta esattamente la sensazione d’incertezza dei nostri giorni. Siamo da soli o apparteniamo a un gruppo? Quale direzione è meglio prendere? Chi vogliamo seguire? Decidiamo di stare con una o con un’altra persona? Lo spettacolo ha una costruzione drammaturgia chiara e coerente. Coinvolgente l’interpretazione dei danzatori della Tanzcompagnie Rubato e davvero molto belle le musiche di Alexander Nickmann.
From October 11th to 15th, at the Uferstudios Berlin, ZWEIFEL (Eng. Doubtful), the latest work by Tanzcompagnie Rubato, was performed.
In the silence, a dancer enters the stage. Raising both arms in a diagonal, he begins to bring the space to life. With slow movements, he goes from one pose to another and then, after a short while, disappears into the darkness. A similar scene is immediatelyrepeated. Another performer enters and, despite having a different personality, also performs her short solo. After she moves away from the center of the scene, a third dancer arrives. She seems to be looking for a balance that she does not find.
At this point nine dancers gather on the stage and, moving their weight from one foot to the other, begin to swing. The lights come from the bottom and are arranged low. Two screens, one white and one black, are positioned at right and left top part of the stage. When the live music starts, the energy changes and the performers, through large armmovements, begin to walk in the space and dance. They return to take the same front and then to break ranks again and jump, always using their arms as the engine of their movements. Some moments of contact follow.Other suggestive images are offered by the poses assumed by small groups of dancers, similar to sculptural groups.
From here the same pattern repeats itself again and again. First we witness solos, in which some movements or poses are repeated again, and then moments of ‘collective’ dance.
ZWEIFEL represents the feeling of uncertainty in our times. Are we alone or do we belong to a group? Which direction is best to take? Who do we want to follow? Do we decide to be with one or another person? The show is constructed with a clear and coherent dramaturgy. The interpretationof the Rubato’s dancers is engaging and the music by Alexander Nickmann is truly beautiful.
