From April 30 to May 8 and for the very first time, Berlin will host the week of Burlesque.
Born in Britain between the 16th and 17th century and afterwards spread in the US, the burlesque was originally a very ironic show with entertainment issues of a light social satire, songs, dances and a lot of humor.
In the 20th century, after the success of the ’20s, where the shows became more and more daring, burlesque was gradually pushed aside to make space for striptease shows and then, with the sexual liberation of the ’60s/’70s, totally forgotten in favor of different kinds of entertainment for men only.
It is only in the late ’90s that the genre came back in vogue thanks to Dixie Evans.
The famous Marilyn Monroe of Burlesque, remembered for her shows in which she was performing with a puppet looking like Joe DiMaggio, actively participated in the creation of a Museum of Burlesque, hosted in the ranch of her colleague Jennie Lee, who, for this purpose, collected customs and artifacts of past shows.
To advertise the museum, Dixie Evans established the Miss Exotic World award in 1992, which stills remains the most coveted among the stars of the genre.
That’s how new burlesque celebrities including Tues Dirty Martini, Dita Von Teese and Angie Pontani have reported this kind of variety to the fore, making a great following in particular in the USA and Australia.
This year, and for the first time, the star of burlesque will gather here in Berlin for a whole week of sensational shows.
In the program of The Berlin Burlesque Week stands out the event Carrousel Ooh-la-laa Berlin Heroine-Artists, on May 4th at the historic theater cabaret La Vie en Rose Revuetheater, staging six of the best international artists.
Coming from six different countries (Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Holland, USA and Finland), the queens of burlesque will create spectacular performances, such as those with fire and in a glass of champagne. They will present/wear precious costumes to enhance the curves of their stunning bodies, leaving the audience captured by their performing skills.
One of the owners of the agency Heroine-Artists anticipated that the artists who will give life to the Carousel Ooh-la-laa, have different characters and temperaments: each will play a character with a story to tell on the stage, each of them willperform with courage, strength, sweetness and irony and, above all, with the promise of an unforgettable evening.
In short, to all fans of the genre and to those who want to experience a sensual, explosive, exciting and roaring show for the first time, this appointment is not to be missed !!!
Per la prima volta, dal 30 aprile all’8 maggio, a Berlino si terrà la settimana del Burlesque.
Nato in Gran Bretagna tra il XVI e il XVII secolo e successivamentediffusosi negli Stati Uniti, in origine il burlesque era uno spettacolo molto ironico, con numeri d’intrattenimento farciti di una leggera satira sociale, canzoni, balletti e tanta comicità.
Nel XX secolo, dopo il successo degli anni ‘20, in cui gli spettacoli divennero sempre più audaci, il burlesque fu progressivamente messo da parte per lasciare spazio agli spettacoli di striptease e poi, con la liberazione sessuale degli anni ‘60/’70, totalmente dimenticato a favore di diversi tipi d’intrattenimento per soli uomini.
È soltanto verso la fine degli anni ‘90 che il genere ritorna in voga grazie a Dixie Evans.
La famosa Marilyn Monroe del burlesque, ricordata soprattutto per i suoi spettacoli in cui si esibiva con un pupazzo dalle sembianze di Joe Di Maggio, ha partecipato attivamente alla creazione di un Museo del Burlesque, ospitato nel ranch della collega Jennie Lee, la quale, a tal fine, aveva raccolto costumi e reperti di spettacoli del passato.
Per pubblicizzare il museo, Dixie Evans nel 1992 ha istituito il premio Miss Exotic World, che resta, a tutt’oggi, il più ambito tra le stars del genere.
È così che nuove celebrità del burlesque tra le quali Mar Dirty Martini, Dita Von Teese and Angie Pontani hanno riportato questo genere di varietà alla ribalta, riscuotendo un gran seguito in particolare negli USA e in Australia.
Quest’anno, per la prima volta, le star del burlesque si riuniranno qui a Berlino con un’intera settimana di shows sensazionali.
Nel programma del The Berlin Burlesque Week spicca l’evento Carrousel Ooh-la-laa Berlin della Heroine-Artists, che il 4 maggio, presso lo storico teatro di cabaret La vie en Rose Revuetheater, porterà in scena sei tra le artiste internazionali più affermate del genere.
Provenienti da sei nazioni diverse: Austria, Svizzera, Italia, Olanda, USA e Finlandia, le regine del burlesque daranno vita a performances spettacolari, da quelle col fuoco a quelle in una coppa di champagne. Sfoggeranno preziosissimi costumi per esaltare le curve dei loro corpi mozzafiato, lasciando, con la loro bravura, il pubblico in visibilio.
Una delle proprietarie dell’agenzia Heroine-Artists mi ha anticipato che le artiste che daranno vita al Carousel Ooh-la-laa, hanno caratteri e temperamenti diversi, ognuna interpreterà un personaggio e avrà una storia da raccontare e da portare sul palco, ognuna si esibirà con coraggio, forza, dolcezza e ironia, ma soprattutto con la promessa di una serata indimenticabile.
Insomma, a tutti gli appassionati del genere e a chi, per la prima volta, vuole assistere a uno show sensuale, esplosivo, avvincente e scoppiettante, l’appuntamento è da non perdere!!!
