Eastman and Artistic Director Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, are proud to present their first intensive dance program during the summer of 2016. With this program, talented students and (pre) professional dancers can enrich their skills and learn innovative approaches towards movement and choreography, focusing on the dance culture of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui & Damien Jalet. We offer a unique opportunity to meet and train whilst introducing the process behind Eastman’s repertoire. The course will be led by Eastman’s artistic team and will focus on the repertoire that has been created over the last years. Apart from introducing our own repertory, we also offer a GAGA course, a movement language developed by Ohad Naharin and repertoire. The program consists of technical and repertory classes where key elements will be introduced by world-class performers and cast members of the taught repertory (limited participation). The training is based on a fundamental preparation for the Repertory workshop. Repertory will be a theme-led workshop using sequences and movement material from Babel(words), Puz/zle, genesis生长, Fractus V as well as creative tasks. We have a showing and Q&A at 17h30 on the end of each week for all the repertory classes. We will also offer an interesting side program for the participants.
