BERLINO – Il 28, il 29 e il 30 settembre 2023, presso l’Acker Stadt Palast a Berlino, sono andati in scena: beyond di e con Ute Pliestermann e Katja Scholz e disposable heroines di Katja Scholz con Ini Dill e Carla Morera Cruzate.
Il primo spettacolo si apre con la proiezione di un video in cui un astronauta si muove lentamente in un paesaggio lunare. La stessa ambientazione è ricreata all’interno del teatro. Dopo poco, dando continuità alle immagini sul fondale, l’astronauta compare in scena e inizia a camminare sul palco. Sotto al casco spaziale si nasconde Ute Pliestermann, una delle protagoniste di beyond, la quale, apre una valigetta e poi torna a scomparire in una sorta di igloo per tornare in scena, dopo poco, in abiti ‘normali’, con la propria compagna di viaggio Katja Scholz.
Mentre scorrono immagini di Berlino, le due performer ingaggiano un duetto spostando il telo bianco che ricopre il pavimento. Da questo momento inizia una danza fatta di ampi passi eseguiti simultaneamente, a volte con lo stesso fronte e a volte l’una guardando l’altra come in un dialogo. Una danza fatta di prese, di momenti di contact e di veloci movimenti delle braccia. Quando tornano le immagini, questa volta di auto in corsa, anche le due danzatrici iniziano a correre.
Segue un solo mentre vengono proiettate immagini di mani che si intrecciano, di erba al vento che sembra muovere anche le braccia delle danzatrici sul palco, di una donna con il proprio bambino e poi di nuovo un altro solo che diventa la trasposizione del video che riproduce la realtà scenica. Alla fine, il cerchio si chiude, si ritorna, con un’interessante gestualità drammatica, a usare il telo bianco, prima di fare ritorno nello spazio.
Beyond è uno spettacolo, forse autobiografico, con una caotica Berlino che fa da sfondo alla vita delle protagoniste. L’amicizia, la maternità, il sogno di un tempo più lento e di un luogo meno frenetico sono rappresentati in questa narrazione attraverso immagini e suggestioni, attraverso tanta danza (che meriterebbe un palco più grande per avere l’importanza che merita) e con un interrogativo circa il futuro, in cui l’unica alternativa sembra essere la fuga verso un mondo lontano e parallelo.
Brave e precise nella narrazione Ute Pliestermann e Katja Scholz che ci accompagnano con delicatezza in questo viaggio intimo, tra presente e futuro.
Con il secondo spettacolo si cambia completamente registro. Pur essendo una ‘denuncia’ circa la condizione delle donne madri nel mondo della danza, disposable heroines è una coreografia sarcastica e divertente.
In un ambiente che lentamente si riempie di elettrodomestici e si colora di oggetti per la casa, le due donne con autoironia e dando prova di capacità attoriali, ingaggiano simpatiche gag sul loro ruolo di madri e danzatrici. Mentre stendono la biancheria ad asciugare, mentre aspirano i pavimenti, si asciugano i capelli e parlano al telefono, giocano con il loro corpo o danzano improbabili ma esilaranti assoli del repertorio classico.
In una rappresentazione dal gusto dolce amaro, senza eccedere mai, Ini Dill e Carla Morera Cruzate, entrambe dotate di grande presenza scenica ed espressività, intrattengono il pubblico in una ‘commedia’ grottesca che non manca di evidenziare criticità e problemi della nostra società.
BERLIN – On the 28th, 29th and 30th of September 2023, at the Acker Stadt Palast in Berlin, two performances were on: beyond directed and performed by Ute Pliestermann and Katja Scholz and disposable heroines by Katja Scholz with Ini Dill and Carla Morera Cruzate.
The first show opens with the projection of a video where an astronaut moves slowly in a lunar landscape. The same setting is recreated inside the theater. After a short while, giving continuity to the images on the backdrop, the astronaut appears and starts walking on the stage. Under the space helmet Ute Pliestermann hides, one of the protagonists of beyond, who opens a briefcase and then disappears again into a sort of igloo to return to the scene, after a while, in ‘normal’ clothes, with her travel companion Katja Scholz.
While images of Berlin scroll by, the two performers engage in a duet by moving the white cloth covering the floor. From this moment begins a dance made up of large steps performed simultaneously, sometimes with the same front and sometimes one looking at the other as in a dialogue. A dance made by lifts, moments of contact and quick movements of the arms.
When the images return, this time of speeding cars, the two dancers also begin to run.
A solo follows while images of intertwining hands are projected. Images of grass in the wind which also seems to move the arms of the dancers on stage. Images of a woman with her child and then again another solo that becomes the transposition of the video that plays reality represented on stage. In the end, the circle closes. They return, with an interesting dramatic gesture, to using the white cloth, before returning to the space.
Beyond is a show, perhaps autobiographical, with a chaotic Berlin as the backdrop to the life of the protagonists. Friendship, motherhood, the dream of a slower time and a less frenetic place are represented in this narrative/tale through images and suggestions, through a lot of dance (which deserves a bigger stage to have the importance it deserves) and with a question about the future, in which the only alternative seems to be to escape towards a distant and parallel world.
Ute Pliestermann and Katja Scholz are really good and precise in telling their story. They delicately accompany us on this intimate journey, between the present and the future.
With the second show the tone changes completely. Despite being a criticism about the condition of mothers in the world of dance, disposable heroines is a sarcastic and funny choreography.
In an environment that slowly fills with home appliances and is coloured with household objects, the two women, with self-irony and demonstrating their acting skills, engage in funny gags about their roles as mothers and dancers. While they hang out the laundry to dry, while they vacuum the floors, they dry their hair and talk on the phone, they play with their bodies or dance unlikely but exhilarating solos from the ballet repertoire.
In a representation with a bitter sweet taste, without ever exceeding, Ini Dill and Carla Morera Cruzate, both gifted with great stage presence and expressiveness, entertain the audience in a grotesque ‘comedy’ that highlights the critical issues and problems of our society.
