WELLINGBOROUGH (UK) – THE CASTLE

Two Thirds Sky è una compagnia di danza residente a The Castle, Wellingborough (UK). Giunta al decimo anno di attività, la compagnia ha raggiunto una solida reputazione per l’alto livello tecnico ed energico con un lavoro radicato nel patrimonio storico e culturale.
Il Progetto Eventide è un’idea in site-specific per l’English Heritage per il sito medioevale di Chichele College e Beda House, a Higham Ferrers. Si intende formare quindi un cast di ballerini professionisti e di community dancers per presentare una serie di performance con sfilata di fiaccole, impostando brani contemporanei in contrasto allo sfondo scintillante di pietra e vetro piombato.
Nel corso di un processo creativo di tre mesi, Eventide culminerà in una esperienza teatrale che trasformerà gli spazi anche invitando la comunità locali a rivedere i propri edifici storici.
La coreografia sarà una revisione delle antiche danze, usandole come modelli spaziali e dinamici per le interpretazioni contemporanee dinamiche, come la colonna sonora  sarà una reinvenzione  della musica liturgica e folcloristica del periodo.

Ballerini professionisti
Two Thirds Sky cerca di comporre un cast con artisti contemporanei, con una combinazione di competenze tecniche e apertura creativa. Direzione artistica di Lisa Spackman.
I candidati devono avere un minimo di tre anni di formazione professionale.
Disponibilità per le prove a Wellingborough, Northants, tra il 6 marzo e il 10 aprile 2015. Il cachet è di £ 1.680 + viaggio / soggiorno / alloggio per 20 giorni di lavoro in totale.

Adult Community Dancers

Two Thirds Sky sta cercando di formare un gruppo/comunità di ballerini adulti che cerchino di proseguire la propria formazione ed esperienza. Ciò potrebbe includere gli studenti (18+), laureati, docenti, operatori di comunità, o artisti.
La partecipazione comprende:

• Una residenza di fine settimana con la compagna a The Castle, Wellingborough da venerdì 6 marzo (sera) a Domenica 8 Marzo (giorno). Ciò comprende classi tecniche, attività creativa e l’apprendimento del repertorio del compagnia.
• Site performance a Higham Ferrers -La residenza è in preparazione per il weekend sabato 14 e domenica 15 narzo; seguita da una serie di spettacoli pubblici dal 7 al 10 Aprile.

La partecipazione al progetto di residenza costa £ 40. Ci sono 10 posti disponibili. È necessario essere disponibili a partecipare a tutte le date indicate.

Two Thirds Sky are resident dance company at The Castle, Wellingborough. Now in its tenth year, the company have built a reputation for highly energised, technical work rooted in historical and cultural heritage.

The Eventide Project is a choreographic, site-specific response to the medieval English Heritage site of Chichele College, and Bede House, in Higham Ferrers. It draws together a cast of professional and community dancers to present a series of torch-lit promenade performances, setting contemporary pieces against the glittering backdrop of stone and leaded glass. Engaging new audiences for live dance and music in Northamptonshire, Eventide ties with the town’s 600 year celebration of the political maverick and Archbishop, Henry Chichele.
Over a three month creative process, Eventide will culminate in an exciting theatrical experience, for both participants and audience-members, as they journey these transformed spaces, inviting local communities to revisit their historic buildings.
The choreography will re-envision ancient formation dances, using these as spatial templates for dynamic contemporary interpretations, while the underscore will reimagine liturgical and folkloric music of the period, and crossovers into early Middle Eastern forms.

Professional Dancers

We are looking to cast exceptional contemporary performers, with a combination of technical expertise and creative openness. You will join our existing team, under choreographer and Artistic Director Lisa Spackman, to deliver this large scale, high profile site-responsive performance.

Applicants should have a minimum of three years of professional dance training.

You will need to be able to attend rehearsals in Wellingborough, Northants, between 6th March and 10th April 2015. We are able to offer a project fee of £1,680 plus travel / subsistence / accommodation for 20 days work in total. Short-listed artists will be invited to attend one day-long audition at either: Dance4, College Street, Nottingham, NG1 5AQ, on Saturday 7th February. Or The Castle, Wellingborough, Castle Way, NN8 1XA, on Sunday 8th February.

Adult Community Dancers

Two Thirds Sky are looking to form a group of adult community dancers seeking to further their training and performance experience. This might include students (18+), graduates, teachers, community practitioners, or artists.

Participation includes:

• A weekend residency with the company at The Castle, Wellingborough – Running from Friday 6th March (evening), to Sunday 8th March (daytime). This will include high-paced technical classes, creative activity with the company’s professionals and learning performance repertory.
• On site performance in Higham Ferrers – The residency is in preparation for a weekend on site with the full community cast, taking place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March; followed by a run of public performances from 7th-10th April.
