AUDITIONS FOR MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS

Pre-Audition Workshop April 29 – May 1

The Martha Graham Dance Company is seeking strong dancers with a broad range of current performance techniques, ballet as well as the Graham Technique. The Company guarantees 30 weeks of work per year to its core group of dancers.  Dancers of the Graham Company are members of the American Guild of Musical Artists AFL-CIO.

You must register to guarantee a place at the audition.

INITIAL WORK PERIOD:  Dancers must be available for rehearsals beginning as early as June 2015. Further work with the Company is contingent on the initial work period. Dancers must be performance-ready and available immediately for international travel with no passport or visa restrictions to perform in the US or abroad.

Registration Fee: $25 (non-refundable)

• Registration fee is not required for current members of AGMA
• Registration fee is not required for participants in the Pre-Audition Workshop
• We must receive the registration fee by April 29 in order to guarantee a space at the audition. Admission at the door will be limited to space availabile

WOMEN: Hiring women at AGMA apprentice level or level appropriate to experience.

• Must be experienced in a range of current dance techniques, ballet as well as have some experience in the Martha Graham Technique.
• Must be available for rehearsals in June 2015 and for international travel with no passport or visa restrictions.
• Dancers should arrive warmed-up, hair tied back completely, in dance wear without baggy warm-up clothes.  Make-up is recommended.
• All dancers must bring a photo with resume to the audition.

MEN: Hiring men at AGMA apprentice level or level appropriate to experience.

• Height: 5’11”or taller.
• Must be experienced in a range of current dance techniques, ballet as well as have some experience in the Martha Graham Technique.
• Must be available for rehearsals beginning June 2015 and for international travel with no passport or visa restrictions.
• All dancers should be warmed-up, with long hair tied back and in dance wear without baggy warm-up clothes.
• All dancers must bring a photo with resume to the audition.

AUDITION AND WORKSHOP FEES

• Audition Registration Fee: $25
  (Current AGMA members pay no fee).
• Pre-Audition Class (May 2): $16
  Class Fee does not include Audition Registration Fee.
• Pre-Audition Workshop:
  – 3 days: $180     ($110 for full-time Graham Students ONLY)
  – 1 day:   $80       ($55 for full-time Graham Students ONLY)
  For Current Repertory and either Advanced Graham Technique or Graham Technique Refresher.Workshop Fee includes $25 Audition Registration Fee.
• Additional Technique Class: $20
  For those wishing to take both technique classes: Advanced Graham Technique and Graham Technique Refresher.
