BERLINO – Dal 19 al 22 e di nuovo dal 26 al 29 maggio, presso l’Halle Tanzbüne Berlin, la cie. toula limnaios ripropone Anderland, una pezzo di repertorio del 2011.
Al posto del sipario, il palco è ‘oscurato’ da tre lunghi veli di plastica che dal soffitto arrivano fino a terra. Una luce dal fondo proietta su queste ‘tende’ le ombre di sette danzatori che, come in un gioco di ‘bambole russe’, sembrano uscire l’uno dall’altro. Quando parte la musica, i corpi iniziano a muoversi contro questa parete trasparente. Poi iniziano a correre senza una precisa direzione. Si sentono delle voci, sembra di essere in una stazione ferroviaria. Si vedono le sette sagome aderire al ‘sipario’ e muoversi fino a farlo cadere. Forse, siamo arrivati nell’altro luogo (anderland).
Tutti camminano all’indietro per poi iniziare a danzare quasi sul posto, in una ‘verticalità’ che caratterizza l’intera performance. Sembra proprio che in quest’altra terra tutto sia ‘aereo’ quasi come in assenza di gravità. Sono molte, infatti, le prese e i salti che consentono ai danzatori di spostarsi con leggerezza e velocità sul palco, in un costante dialogo tra loro.
Da questo momento, è tutto un susseguirsi di immagini, a volte molto forti, come quando Priscilla Fiuza resiste alla violenza del gruppo (scena molto bella, ma volutamente perturbatrice), o immagini molto poetiche, come quando Francesca Bedin, Karolina Wyrwal e Alessio Scandale si inarcano e giocano con l’aria di un ventilatore che gli muove i capelli, o, sempre Karolina Wyrwal, con lo stesso ventilatore, fa volare in aria un velo trasparente, o quando Daniel Afonso e i suoi compagni di viaggio, riempiono lo spazio di fogli di giornale. Intenso il finale, che vede leonardo D’Aquino e l’intero gruppo scivolare sul pavimento ricoperto di carte mentre Laura Breschi vortica tutt’intorno.
Con Anderland, proprio come promette il titolo, Toula Limnaios ci porta in un altro mondo, un luogo in cui l’elemento aria è predominante. Un posto dove volano le idee e le speranze volteggiano nell’aria. Una terra in cui la caduta è ancor più dura e in cui, per sopravvivere, bisogna imparare ad andare controcorrente.
From May 19th to 22nd and again from 26th to 29th, at the Halle Tanzbüne Berlin, the cie. toula limnaios reproposes Anderland, a production of 2011.
Instead of a curtain, the stage is ‘obscured’ by three long plastic veils that reach the floor from the ceiling. A light from the back projects shadows on the surface of these ‘curtains’. One by one, seven dancers, like in a game of ‘Russian dolls’, seem to come out of each other. When the music starts, their bodies begin to move against this transparent wall. Then they start running without a precise direction. The voices that come out of the speakers give the impression to be in a train station. The seven shapes can be seen adhering to the ‘curtain’ and moving until the plastic falls. Perhaps, we have arrived in the ‘other place’ (Anderland).
Everyone walks backwards and then starts dancing almost on the spot, in a ‘verticality’ that characterizes the entire performance. It really seems that in this other land everything is ‘aerial’ almost like in the absence of gravity. In fact, there are many lift and jumps that allow the dancers to move lightly and quickly on stage, in constant dialogue with each other.
From this point on, there is a succession of images, sometimes strong, such as when Priscilla Fiuza resists the violence of the group (a very beautiful scene, but deliberately disturbing), sometimes poetic, such as when Francesca Bedin, Karolina Wyrwal and Alessio Scandale arch their back and play with the wind of a fan that moves their hair, or, always Karolina Wyrwal, with the same fan, blows a transparent veil in the air without letting it fall, or when Daniel Afonso and his travel companions fill the space with newspaper’s sheets. The finale, that sees Leonardo D’Aquino and the entire group slipping on the floor covered with papers while Laura Breschi swirls all around, is very intense and dramatic.
With anderland, just as the title promises, Toula Limnaios bring us to another world, a place where the air element is predominant. A place where ideas fly and hopes whirl in the air. A land where the fall is even harder and where, in order to survive, you have to learn to go against the tide.
