BERLINO – Il 6 e il 7 agosto 2021, nell’ambito della XXXIII edizione del Festival Tanz im August, è stato presentato al pubblico Underdogs di Anne Nguyen, produzione del 2021 della par Terre Dance Company.
Quando si parla di pura danza
Se la Germania, culla del teatrodanza, ci ha abituato a spettacoli d’avanguardia, concettuali, minimalisti e sofisticati, in cui anche un semplice gesto può riempire il tempo e lo spazio, Underdogs è pura danza.
Presso la suggestiva cornice del Freilichtbühne Weißensee (Palcoscenico all’aperto Lago bianco), dal loro ingresso fino agli applausi finali, i componenti della par Terre Dance Company, si si sono esibiti, senza sosta, in una intensa ed energica performance.
In scena le proteste degli anni ’70
A ritmo di rap e soul, i protagonisti di questa piece, rievocando il clima di protesta dell’America degli anni ’70, interpretano i ‘perdenti’, gli emarginati sociali, che lottano per sé stessi e per i propri ideali.
Bravissimi Sonia Bel Hadj Brahim, Arnaud Duprat e Pascal Luce che muovono il corpo spaziando da vari generi di hip hop, al funk, allo swing fino alla pantomima, in cui la voce narrante è quella dei brani musicali selezionati da Sébastien Lété.
Spettacolo coinvolgente dal ritmo incalzante. Ottima la prestazione dei suoi interpreti.

On August 6th and 7th, as part of the XXXIII edition of the Tanz im August Festival, Anne Nguyen’s Underdogs, production 2021 of the par Terre Dance Company, was on.
If Germany, home of dance theatre, has got us used to avant-garde, conceptual, minimalist and sophisticated shows, in which even a simple gesture can fill time and space, Underdogs is pure dance.
At the evocative setting of the Freilichtbühne Weißensee (White Lake open-air), from their entrance to the final applause, the members of the par Terre Dance Company performed, non-stop, in an intense and energetic representation.
To the rhythm of rap and soul, the protagonists of this piece, recalling the protest atmosphere in 1970s USA, interpret the ‘losers’, the social outcasts, who fight for themselves and for their ideals.
Sonia Bel Hadj Brahim, Arnaud Duprat and Pascal Luce are very talented performers. They move their body ranging from various genres of hip hop, funk, even swing to moments of pantomime, in which the narrating voice is the musical pieces selected by Sébastien Lété.
Engaging show with a fast pace. Excellent performance of his interpreters.
