BERLINO – Dal 14 al 17 novembre, presso gli Uferstudios Berlin è andato in scena blue-sky thinking, ultimo lavoro della Tanzcompagnie Rubato.
Quando lo spettacolo inizia, si accendono le luci sui quattro danzatori protagonisti che – come campeggiatori sotto un cielo stellato – sono sdraiati per terra con le gambe coperte da un telo rosso.
La musica dal vivo, grande contributo alla riuscita della performance, sembra riprodurre il rumore delle onde del mare, il rumore del vento.
Ad un tratto, dei suoni sovrastano le teste dei danzatori che si alzano rivolgendo lo sguardo verso il cielo. Da qui inizia la danza.
Lasciando che sia il braccio a condurli, i performer iniziano a dar vita allo spazio con movimenti ampi che riempiono la scena: affondi, salti, mani che cercano di afferrare qualcosa; poi convergono tutti verso il centro, dove assumono pose come a comporre ripetutamente dei quadri che lentamente si disfano, fino tornare di nuovo sotto al telo rosso.
Da questo momento il senso dello spettacolo – un inno alla speranza – è chiaro a tutti.
I performer citano e poi cantano Immagine di John Lennon, per poi esplodere di energia al centro del palco.
Si susseguono altri interessanti momenti coreografici, forse non sempre legati in modo coerente, fino al gran finale: una danza roteante come quella dei dervisci, una danza di ‘ascesi e di salvazione’.
Blue-sky thinking è uno spettacolo ricco di immagini e di idee, dove anche la scelta di muovere in modo sempre corale i danzatori sembra una scelta voluta per evocare un mondo senza differenze e separazioni.

From November 14th to 17th, blue-sky thinking, the latest work of the Tanzcompagnie Rubato, was on at the Uferstudios Berlin.
When the show begins, the lights turn on on the four dancers who – like campers under a starry sky – are lying on the ground with their legs covered by a red blanket.
The live music is a great contribution to the success of the performance, and it seems to reproduce the sound of the sea’s waves, the sound of the wind.
Suddenly, noises overhang the heads of the dancers, who rise up looking at the sky. From here the dance starts.
Leading by their arms, the performers give life to the space with wide movements that fill the stage: lunges, jumps, hands trying to grasp something.
Then they all converge towards the center, where they take poses to compose paintings that slowly disintegrate, until the moment when the four dancers return under the red blanket.
From now on the meaning of the show – a hymn to hope – is clear to everyone.
The performers quote and then sing Immagine by John Lennon, then explode with energy at the center of the stage.
There are other interesting choreographic moments, perhaps not always linked in a coherent way, until the grand finale: a ‘pirouette dance’ which reminds of the one performed by the dervishes, a dance of ‘asceticism and salvation’.
Blue-sky thinking is a show full of images and ideas, where even the choice to move the dancers always together seems a deliberate choice to evoke a world without differences and separations.
