Are you looking to further your art as a Choreographer? Would you be inspired to be pushed and challenged in an interdisciplinary setting?
The MA Choreography at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden, is a two-year, full-time course of study offering the chance to learn new tools and develop your skills on a masters level. Through the Course, which is a hybrid of theoretical and practical experiences explored through an intertwined structure, compact creative processes and modules offer a multitude of opportunities to further develop your own unique identity as a Choreographer.
Admission and Enrollment
Enrolment is only possible through an admissions process. Simultaneous admission for the same course of study at several universities is not permitted.
The purpose of the admission process is to determine the special artistic talent including the corresponding career-specific dispositions and skills. The admissions process includes an application and an audition. Applicants who met the prerequisites for the course of study and are exceptionally talented are invited to take the entrance exam.
The audition includes:
The performance of your own choreography, 5-10 minutes in duration with a small cast. You can present the choreography with a DVD or video- link.
An independent choreographic work with a piece of music within one hour, which can be chosen from six given examples of music and interpreted and danced by the applicants themselves verbal analyse of a short dance video.An interview regarding general knowledge in the area of art and special knowledge in the areas of dance, music and theatre
Enrolment takes place every two years, always for the winter semester of even years in the Masters of Arts – Choreography Programme (next WS 2016/17).

Include the following in your application:
-certified copy or official transcripts of degrees from school, undergraduate and/or graduate study(foreign degrees have to be handed in with a certified translation)
-a letter of motivation describing your interest in the programme, why you are interested in interrogating your practice at this time and the contextualization of your practice in the current dance landscape presentation of the choreography, which will be presented at the audition
-portfolio demonstrating significant professional experience, video/DVD/videolink presentation of choreographic work, a list of orginial works
-two references
-CV addressing your background and relevant experience
-if applicable prove of previous study period as well as study results and/or exam results
-for applicants whose first landuage is not English, a copy of successful completion of the demanded language certificate according to Zulassungsordnung MA Choreografie §2 Absatz 1
