ALTO FEST, è un Festival Internazionale di Arti Performative e Interventi Trasversali. La sua V edizione si terrà a Napoli dall’8 al 12 luglio 2015.

Un progetto culturale internazionale, orizzontale e generativo, che si innesta nel tessuto socio-urbano che lo ospita. Lo scopo del festival, sintetizzato dal principio “dare luogo”, consiste nell’attivare processi culturali innovativi e partecipativi e promuovere così un’esperienza di rigenerazione umana ed urbana.
Alto Fest innesca dispositivi generativi di relazione, pensiero e conoscenza, miscela la dimensione intima e quella pubblica, predispone uno spazio di promiscuità tra autori e spettatori tendendo al superamento dei loro ruoli, a favore di una partecipazione consapevole.
Il Festival si svolge negli spazi privati donati spontaneamente dai cittadini (appartamenti, terrazzi, sotterranei, cortili, interi condomini, laboratori artigianali…). I cittadini condividono, con agli artisti e con il pubblico, l’intimità delle loro case, la quotidianità del posto di lavoro, la memoria delle cantine, stringendo una relazione esclusiva con l’artista, un legame indissolubile con l’opera d’arte. Un processo svolto attraverso la sperimentazione di poetiche innovative, che ambiscono a coinvolgere, assieme ai luoghi, il sistema di relazioni che questi luoghi ospitano. Alto Fest tende quindi ad emanciparsi progressivamente dalla funzione di mera “produzione” e/o “programmazione” di spettacoli ed opere artistiche, abitualmente attribuita ai festival, per prefigurarsi come uno spazio di socialità sperimentale.
Il festival nasce a Napoli nel 2011, ideato e diretto da TeatrInGestAzione (teatringestazione.com). TeatrInGestAzione da diversi anni si occupa di creare pratiche artistiche innovative che coinvolgono il territorio e gli artisti internazionali, puntando sulla partecipazione diretta dei cittadini ai processi culturali, innestando l’azione artistica nell’architettura socio-urbana ed umana in cui agisce.
A CHI SI RIVOLGE
Il nostro invito è rivolto ai praticanti dell’arte e del pensiero, ricercatori, singoli artisti o collettivi. Sono escluse le formazioni amatoriali.
Il programma del festival accoglie tutte le espressioni dell’arte contemporanea dal vivo, dal teatro alle arti visive, dalla danza alla musica, fino al cinema e alla scrittura, ospitando progettualità interdisciplinari, prodotte dal dialogo tra autori che sperimentano sinergie inedite, prassi ibride, la cui presenza oggi rende ALTO FEST crocevia di linguaggi diversificati e di estetiche sperimentali.

Per la programmazione, possono essere candidate una o più opere già in repertorio o progetti in fase di sviluppo, purché non inferiori ai 30 minuti, salvo eccezioni. Per le residenze creative, possono essere candidati progetti inediti, a contenuto libero.

Alto Fest. International Open Call. Deadline 20th April 2015
ALTO FEST is an international Festival of Performing Arts and Trans-disciplinary Interventions. Its Fifth Edition will run July 8-12, 2015 – Naples- Italy.
An international cultural project, generative and horizontal that is inserted in the innermost social-urban fabric by which it is hosted. The aim of the festival is summarized by the motto “to give rise to”, is to activate cultural and participative processes, promoting an experience of human and urban regeneration.
Alto Fest activates generative “dispositifs” of relation, thinking and knowledge, mixing public and intimacy. It creates a space of promiscuity in which authors and audience can go beyond their roles, participating consciously.
The Festival runs in private venues spontaneously donated by the citizens (apartments, terraces, basements, courtyards, whole buildings, artisan shops…) Citizens share with artists and audience the intimacy of their houses, the everyday life of their working places, the memory of the cellars, creating an exclusive relationship with the artist and a permanent connection with
the artwork. The process is built by experimenting with innovative poetics and aiming to the involvement of places, and with them the system of relationships that are hosted by the places themselves.
Alto Fest emancipates itself from the function of mere “programming” and/ or “production” of shows and artworks, as festivals are usually considered, to prefigure itself as a space for an experimental sociality. In this way the city becomes the home for innovative and shared art practices, for vibrant artists and brave citizens.
The festival was born in 2011 in Naples, and it is conceived and directed by TeatrInGestAzione (teatringestazione.com). TeatrInGestAzione cares for the artistic direction of the festival. From many years the company deals with the creation of innovative artistic practices; directly involving international artists and territory, TeatrInGestAzione focuses on the involvement of citizens in the cultural processes, inserting the artistic action in the socio-urban and human architecture in which the company acts.
WHO CAN APPLY
Performers, researchers, art and thought practitioners, single or collective artists. Amateur groups are excluded.
The program of the festival welcomes all the expressions of contemporary live arts, from theatre to visual arts, from dance to music, from cinema to writing, hosting interdisciplinary projects, originated by the dialogue among artists experimenting with original synergies and hybrid praxis. Today their presence makes ALTO FEST a crossroads of diversified languages and experimental aesthetics.
ALTO FEST is a Permanent Observatory focused on the “aesthetic experience” inviting the artists in program to relate their own project to the principle that generated the festival: To Give Rise To.

In the same page you will find the REGULATIONS DOCUMENT. Before filling the Application Form, we recommend you to carefully read the guidelines describing the structure of the Festival and the conditions for participation, both for Program and Creative Residencies sections.
For PROGRAM section application can regard one or more finished works or ongoing projects. Works and projects must have a minimum duration of 30 minutes, except for special cases. For CREATIVE RESIDENCIES unpublished projects are welcome.
