Aurinkobaletti is Looking for 1-2 Dancers to join the Company (Male / Female)
The Turku based contemporary dance group Aurinkobaletti is looking for 1-2 dancers to join the company, male dancer for two-year contract and female dancer for specific productions.
The primary choreographer for the Aurinkobaletti (founded in 1981) is the Artistic Director Urmas Poolamets. Ensemble’s regular guest is the number one name in Russian contemporary dance, Sasha Pepeljajev, as well as the former Artistic Director Raija Lehmussaari.
Also other visiting choreographers regularly compose choreographies for Aurinkobaletti. The group has been visited by several international choreographers from Carolyn Carlson to Virpi Pahkinen, and Finnish top names such as Marjo Kuusela, Arja Raatikainen and Jorma Uotinen.
Aurinkobaletti’s home stage is located in Manilla factory quarters by the river Aura, and the company tours both home and abroad. The company has about 100 performances yearly. Currently Aurinkobaletti has five permanent dancers, and occasionally additional dancers for certain productions.
Versatility, mastering of contemporary technique and stage experience are expected from the Aurinkobaletti dancers. Ballet technique is also preferred.
After receiving the applications some of the applicants will be invited to attend an audition on Saturday 9.4.2016 starting at11:00 in Manilla, Itäinen Rantakatu 64, 20810 Turku FINLAND.
