BERLINO – Che emozione l’ultima produzione di Toula Limnaios. La premiere di Shifted realities è stata un vero successo!
Con questo doppio solo, che vede in scena la famosa coreografa greca e il giapponese Hironori Sugata, membro della compagnia dal lontano 2005, si è aperta la nuova stagione della cie. toula limnaios.
Le due performance sono simultanee, ma i due protagonisti, pur muovendosi sullo stesso palco, non condividono mai lo stesso spazio.
Al centro della sala c’è un’area delimitata da quattro tende trasparenti e poi ci sono i corridoi esterni a questo quadrato.
Quando il pubblico entra in sala, la Limnaios si trova all’interno dell’area chiusa mentre Sugata corre lungo il perimetro laterale. Poi inizia la musica e, attraverso la loro danza, sembra che i due protagonisti raccontino ognuno la propria storia. La Limnaios canta una canzone greca, racconta la sua storia di donna – con i tacchi – e quella di danzatrice – con le punte – mentre Sugata, attraverso una gestualità minuta ed elegante e passi piccoli e veloci, ci porta nel suo mondo, avvicinandoci alla sua cultura lontana.
In uno schema avvincente, in cui i due protagonisti entrano ed escono dal quadrato centrale senza mai incontrarsi, questi due solo/monologhi sembrano diventare un dialogo.
Punto d’incontro tra le due storie e le differenti culture è la danza.
Shifted realities supera le aspettative. Lo spettacolo è intenso e ben costruito. È bella la danza, accattivante la musica, firmata da Ralf R. Ollertz, e bravissimi i due performer.
Meritatissimi i lunghi minuti di applausi.
Un personale encomio a Toula Limnaios che nonostante la sua grande carriera da coreografa non ha paura di mettersi in gioco e di rischiare ancora.
How exciting it was to attend the latest production of Toula Limnaios. The premiere of Shifted realities was a real success!
With this double solo, which features the famous Greek choreographer and the Japanese Hironori Sugata, a member of the company since 2005, the new season of the cie toula limnaios has opened.
The two performances are simultaneous, but the two protagonists, while moving on the same stage, never share the same space.
In the center of the room there is an area delimited by four transparent curtains and then there are the corridors outside this area.
When the public enters, Toula Limnaios is inside the closed area while Sugata runs along the side perimeter. Then the music starts and, through their dance, it seems that each of the two protagonists is telling its own story. Limnaios sings a Greek song, tells her story as woman – with heels – and as dancer – with ballet shoes – while Sugata, through small and elegant gestures and short and fast steps, takes us into his world, getting closer to the his distant culture.
In a compelling scheme, in which the two protagonists enter and leave the central space without ever meeting, these two monologues seem to become a dialogue.
The meeting point between the two stories and different cultures is dance.
Shifted realities exceeds expectations. The show is intense and well built. The dance is beautiful, the music, signed by Ralf R. Ollertz, is captivating and the two performers are very good.
The several minutes of applause were well deserved.
A personal commendation to Toula Limnaios who despite her great career as a choreographer is not afraid to get involved and risk again.
