Danse Elargie is a project devised by Boris Charmatz, choreographer, and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, director of the Théâtre de la Ville, in continued partnership with the Fondation d’Entreprise Hermès.
This international competition is open to artists from all disciplines : dance, theater, philosophy, poetry, puppetry, visual arts, new circus, performance…).

* WHAT : Do you think that the doorways to theaters are too narrow? That new, wider ones should be invented? You think ten minutes to present something on stage is neither more or less absurd than absolutely having to fill a whole hour? You know that “Le prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune” is only 9 minutes long? And that there would still be a minute left to add some gestures? That under the pretext of organizing a competition, it is possible to create a truly big and free happening? A chance, an open window of stage time, to change what is usually allowed? Danse Elargie : Yes? No? That it can even be fun?
Oui think you have a good idea to occupy the space and time intelligently? And you want to defend an extended idea of Dance? You want to give a try?
