LUCKY you – it’s TRIMMER time! For its 26th edition, held at the prestigious SOPHIENSAELE theatre in the heart of Berlin-Mitte, LUCKY TRIMMER is seeking original short pieces.
LUCKY TRIMMER spotlights both emerging and established artists by showcasing a selection of works that are engaged with physicality, movement and performance. For each edition, our curatorial team selects short pieces that touch our hearts out of a pool of international applications and assembles them to form an extravagant feature-length program. LUCKY TRIMMER stands between worlds by bridging the avant-garde and the mainstream and by combining artistic excellence with the lightness of entertainment. Our world revolves around contemporary dance but is open to all genres as long as the 3 LUCKY-rules are followed: be original, be bold and keep it under 10 minutes! Submissions are subject to an application fee of 15 € LUCKY TRIMMER does not receive any public funding. Our non profit organisation relies exclusively on the volunteering work of its production team and its network of private sponsors. Yourapplication represents a significant contribution towards the realisation of the festival and helps to ensure that LUCKY TRIMMER remains an influential showcase for the international dance and performance scene. The proceeds from your application fee are used exclusively for the realisation of the LUCKY TRIMMER Tanz Performance Serie;
SHOWS:March 30th & 31st, 2018 – SOPHIENSAELE Berlin www.sophiensaele.com
(3 shows in total – technical rehearsals on March 29th, 2018);
MONEY:500 € per piece + accommodation (shared double occupancy) + a small financial
contribution towards the coverage of travel (depending on budget)
Additionally we are working towards providing our featured artists with additional
performance opportunities thanks to our network of co-production partners and
collaborators (Hungary, Cyprus, Italy, Israel);
INFO: Our 10-minute-limit per piece is as always holy and non-negotiable! You will only have 1 hour to tech and space your piece on stage so keep your lighting andtechnical wishes simple.
