A Berlino, presso l’Haus der Berliner Festspiele, è appena andato in scena Tipping Point, ultimo spettacolo della compagnia britannica British Circus Theatre curato e diretto da Ockham’s Razor.
La prima sorpresa è che il pubblico, piuttosto che in platea, viene accolto sugli spalti disposti in circolo direttamente sul palco.
Appena appaiono in scena, i cinque performer tracciano un cerchio con della polvere di gesso, per delimitare il loro campo d’azione.
Il perimetro sfiora i piedi degli spettatori seduti in prima fila. La vicinanza col pubblico, infatti, è tale da avere la sensazione di essere protagonisti dello spettacolo.
Tra sketch e gag che divertono gli astanti, l’esibizione è un susseguirsi di acrobazie che, alternate a momenti di contact, prese e salti, fa trattenere il fiato dall’inizio alla fine.
Forse manca una storia a legare i vari momenti di suspence creati dalle acrobazie aeree dei bravissimi performer, ma nell’insieme lo spettacolo è avvincente e ha il pregio di far tornare il pubblico bambino.
In Berlin, at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, the British Circus Theater was on with Tipping Point curated and directed by Ockham’s Razor.
The first surprise is that the audiance, rather than in the parterre, is welcomed on the stands arranged in a circle, directly on the stage.
As soon as they appear on stage, the five performers draw a circle with gypsum powder to mark their field of action.
The perimeter touches the feet of the audiance seated in the front row. The proximity to the public, in fact, is such as to have the feeling of being protagonists of the show.
Between sketchs and gags which entertain the audience, the performance is a succession of acrobatics that, alternating with moments of contact, holds and jumps, makes the audience hold their breath from the beginning to the end of the show.
Perhaps a story is missing to tie the various suspense moments created by the acrobatics of the talented performers, but overall the show is compelling and has the advantage of returning the audience to their childhood.
