BERLINO – In the charming setting of Sophiensaele of Berlin, Formen Formen went on stage by Julian Weber.

The work is the brainchild of the young choreographer, in which the juxtaposition of ‘human body’ and ‘body object’ is central. in this project, the ability to transform between the ‘human body’ and ‘body object’ play a significant role.
The choreographer, after selected five dancers from different generations and with different backgrounds, has personally built for each of them – depending on their body and their character – a geometric sculpture with which the performers had to interact.
The dancers, as they confirmed at the end of the show, lived for several months with their personal object, making it part of everyday life.
In particular, during this period of study, they had to look for possible interactions with the sculpture to create a ‘solo’ that included the use of the object they were assigned to. in the solo the dancers applied the concept of keeping the objects as the focal point in the show.

The interesting result was a dance in which the movements were imposed by the geometry of bodies by filling the voids and the volumes of the sculptures – the movement being conditional to the sculptures themselves.

At the end of the show, there remains room for speculation about a possible meaning beyond the technical and aesthetic choreography.
Those geometric objects that limit us and influence us, do they represent our unconscious? Or do the difficulties with which you have to live and to resolve always require different solutions?
Maybe they are that part of our lives that only partly depends on our choices?
It’s up to each individual to choose the answer they prefer, or even another not specified here.
