Staatsoper unter den Linden (Berlin) are seeking ten dancers (male and female) for a new production of Jean-Philippe Rameau’s baroque Opera Hippolyte et Aricie.

This new staging of one of the great baroque Operas shall be directed and choreographed by Aletta Collins, designed by Olaffur Eliasson and conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.Dancers are required to be excellent technically (contemporary dance with a solid background in balletic training), strong at improvisation, have a genuine interest in early and classical music and very experienced in creating material and taking direction.
Rehearsal period: Berlin from the 3rd September till 6th October (pre-rehearsal period for dancers only) and 15th October till 25th November.
Performances: 25th, 29th November and 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th December 2018. All rehearsals and performances at the Staatsoper unter den Linden.
Payment: 500€/week for the rehearsal period and 375€/ performance (“dependent employment”). No accommodation, local transport or per diems.
