Application deadline: 5 June 2015.

Joshua Monten is looking for dancers who like to get rough.

For his upcoming dance production “Freude,” choreographer Joshua Monten is looking for professional dancers (2 female, 1 male) with a minimum of two years full-time performing experience.

The choreography will be inspired in part by the discipline of stage fighting. Participants are sought who are eager to experience the thrills and challenges of stage fighting. Trained dancers with experience in disciplines such as capoeira, aikido, boxing, karate, mud wrestling, acrobatics, etc. are especially welcome.

Full-time, paid rehearsals for “Freude” will take place primarily in Bern from 19 October to 6 November 2015, and then again from approximately 15 February until 31 March 2016. After premiering in the Dampfzentrale Bern on 1 April 2016, the production will tour internationally. It is extremely important that candidates be available for the entire rehearsal period.

If interested, please send resume, photos and video links to freude.audition@gmail.com. If you have fighting/martial arts experience, please explain in a cover letter. Materials may be submitted in English, German or French.

Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a two-day audition in Switzerland on 27/28 June 2015. (Notification will be sent by 12 June 2015.)

Further information about the choreographer is available at www.joshuamonten.com.
